Meet Our Editors

Cassie Mae is the founder of CookieLynn Publishing Services (est. 2015). Along with editing, Cassie has published 20+ titles. She is a fan of quirky and fun characters, loves a good, swoony romance, and enjoys helping other authors get their work to the best possible story it can be. She’s been editing and formatting manuscripts since January 2012 and has worked closely with editors at Penguin Random House and a few small press publishers.

Cassie Mae is a content, line, and copy editor. She also formats for ebook and paperback.

PREFERRED GENRES: Cassie loves all romance, especially contemporary and paranormal. She likes digging into heart-wrenching or goofy stories for teens, college-age, and adults. Small town, motorcycle club, and beach reads are some of her faves, but she loves long series where she can read from book one to book one-thousand, keeping things consistent and exciting during each new book.

NOT FOR ME: I’m okay to edit any genre for a line or copy edit, but I am probably not the best fit for a content edit in the historical (regency) genres.

Cassie Mae is closed to new clients.

Kelley Lynn has been editing manuscripts since July 2011. She’s worked within both the traditional and self publishing realms for other authors as well as herself. She’s a stickler for understanding a character’s motivation and ensuring the world he/she resides in is rich and well developed. Her edits will be honest, with thoughts for improvement as well as comments around all the things she loves about your work. While she’s probably editing your manuscript on an airplane or in a hotel room, her permanent residence is in Wisconsin.

Kelley Lynn is a content editor.

PREFERRED GENRES: Kelley loves pretty much everything!

NOT FOR ME: Regency, Historical, Children’s

If you would like to book an edit with Kelley, please contact her at kelleylynn@cookielynnpub.com

Suzi has been editing manuscripts since 2012 for both traditional and self-published authors. She enjoys the editing process: hunting down missing commas, fixing tricky punctuation, and polishing a manuscript. She splits her time between editing with CookieLynn Publishing and working on her own writing.

Suzi is a line and copy editor.

PREFERRED GENRES:

Suzi will work with any genre and has edited a lot of romance and fantasy, but she has a soft spot for thriller/suspense and horror. She will edit any heat level in romance and can handle gritty and risqué stories.

Theresa Paolo has been editing manuscripts since 2011 for both traditionally and self-published authors. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She is a fan of swoonworthy romances at any steam level, witty banter, and both feisty and quirky characters. She loves seeing a story go from draft to perfection and is a huge champion for any author willing to put the work in to get there. Seriously, she’ll be your personal cheerleader. Theresa has written and published 20+ books, achieving her goal of quitting her corporate job to become a full-time author. She lives in NY with her fiancé and their fish Sir Phillip, Giggles, and too many others to name.

Theresa is a content and line editor and marketing director.

PREFERRED GENRES:

All romance no matter the heat level, Contemporary Romance, New Adult Romance, Romantic Suspense, Romantic Comedy, Paranormal Romance, Historical Romance, Young Adult, Erotica, Time Travel Romance, Women’s Fiction, Cozy Mystery

Karie has been editing written works of all kinds since high school, when her peers discovered that she was nicer than the teacher, but still helped them improve their work. In 2014, she fell into the world of indie publishing and expanded her experience to line editing, copy editing, and beta reading. She can spot a missing apostrophe at 50 paces, and never gets so lost in a story that a grammatical error flies under her radar. Karie loves reading unique voices in all kinds of genres and is easily captivated by a well-constructed mystery.

Karie is a content, line, and copy editor.

PREFERRED GENRES: Karie loves romcoms, YA romances, contemporary romances, historical romances, fantasy romances (there might be a theme there), mysteries of all kinds, and regular fantasy and historical novels too. Clean, sweet, and closed door romances are her specialty, but she’s good with anything Steam Level 3 or lower.

NOT FOR ME: Heavy sci-fi, action thrillers (think Tom Clancy), or erotica.

Jessica Kendall has a BFA in creative writing with minors in both English and History. She is a self-proclaimed reading omnivore who loves to immerse herself in multiple genres, so long as there is kissing or stabbing. She has been beta reading and editing since 2017. She lives in Meridian, Idaho with her hunky, science nerd husband and four brilliant, creative, and crazy kids. When not editing, reading, or writing she bakes, beats her kids in Nertz, and binges shows like Leverage, Buffy, Great British Bake Off, Dr. Who, and Golden Girls.

Jessica is a content and line editor.

PREFERRED GENRES: Jessica will work with almost any genre but loves all the Romances (contemporary, historical, romcom, etc), Fantasy (high/epic or low), light Sci-Fi, upper Middle Grade, hopeful Women’s Fiction, thrillers, and mysteries. She reads YA, NA, or Adult and gravitates toward character driven stories. Jessica loves tackling series and helping keep the story on track while avoiding the dreaded curse of the droopy sequel. She excels at fight scenes and kissing scenes and—much to the chagrin of her university professors—loves a happy ending.

NOT FOR HER: Children’s, picture books, heavy sci-fi, and depressing non-fic.
